Original Patreon writeup - this was time sensitive, and I'm just posting it by means of giving you a rough tracklist and for history's sake. Nice one! X
"So following on from what I posted the other day, I'll be having these 5 minuters back as nature intended and regularly scheduled. It's nuts how the last couple of months really threw me and it was a definite wake up call. So funny how exhausted you can get doing stuff that your heart's not 100% in, and until you hit that point you can be as optimistic as you like - it can sometimes only go so far, ya know...
Well, thank you kindly for being so patient with this and you hopefully know it's entirely appreciated. I'll be getting Patreon packages out this week, and the next 5 minute jammie will be up on time Monday week. In the meantime, this is last Monday's goodness which ended up taking a temporary back seat as I prepared for this set last night. It was a killer - full on pad taps and scratches with a whole brand new Ableton set, so it was kind of everything all in there. I did a similar set back on Record Store Day here in Margate but this is the older, badder and cooler brother of that. So hopefully I'll get some time to mix the fucker and report back with an upload for y'all!
This week is a fraction of the set - I remixed this dude Craig David who may be a "Uh?" or a shrug to some of you, but to us UK folk he was a GARAGE ICON! Do you remember that song 'Rewind'? As in, 'When the crowd say BO selectah"? Remember that? It's okay if you don't. Anyway he was responsible for that. 'Fill Me In' is the follow up, which was quite a nice track really - I had the acapella on a 12" which I recently grappled out of my storage unit, and decided to throw some ill dub breaks and drum thunder beneath it. I think it sounds pretty sick but of course, chime in with comments! Essentially though that's what this week's mix is about - Craigy over some rock hard drums. Please enjoy! I'll see what I can do about the mix too - I think you'll dig this one...
Yo... This album is pure perfection. My only regret is not discovering this back when it was released but I'm overjoyed I found it recently. Detroit ambience for nocturnal heads... Buddy Peace
Incredible concept album about Buffalo 66. Buck on rhymes, Tommy on beats. It's so great - really addictive and enjoyable. Cop them instrumentals too! Buddy Peace
