about

For the Haeckels 'Blue Mind Podcast', I'm scoring each episode with original music from top to bottom. The idea is to make music which is suitably background but can hold its own as single-standing pieces. I always wanted to make the music that features in the background available as a stand alone project - did you ever see the vinyl editions of the Blue Planet show? I mean I'm not working with the BBC Symphonic or anything (full disclosure), but I thought it would be nice to have as an accompanying score in case you want to hear it uninterrupted.

I truly hope you like, and if you haven't heard the original full podcast, please have a listen here:

I'd love to hear what you think.
Thank you, bigups, blessings and love to you always.

The Blue Mind Podcast
Episode 6: Invisible Scribbles

Welcome to the sixth episode of the Blue Mind podcast by Hæckels. Your listening bubble and audio escape hatch.

In this episode, the Blue Mind Podcast is joined by professor of sound and landscape Angus Carlyle. It's a wonderful chance to take a deep, deep dive into the unfathomable depths of sound and all that entails, including the fine (and sometimes not so fine) line between where sound goes from thing of astounding and magical element to uninvited and dangerous guest. The ear, nature, the human-made environment, the unwritten and curious rules of field recording and so much more. A true trip into sound from many fascinating and often unexplored perspectives.

We are also joined by Lottie, in-house therapist at Hæckels House in Margate for a unique meditation to conclude our journey.

Blue Mind is an audio bubble providing an escape from the outside world. It’s a meditative project which will provide room for thought, calm, inspiration and information in the space of around an hour or so. There are guests, environment recordings, sound design elements and original music scoring, along with narration and guidance throughout, which concludes with a unique meditation.

We truly hope you find your comfortable place in the podcast and enjoy the experience!
Please follow the guests this week too as their work is outstanding, and genuinely inspiring.
