Introducing Gustoleum!

The proud sister of Gusto, continuing the journey into my own love and - let's just call it what it is - obsession, with the early 90's era of Hip Hop music. My listening kicked off a good amount of years prior, but it was this period where everything started to lock in become a very real thing for me. The radio tapes, the record shops where you would have to sing/rap/somehow mimic the track you were looking for if your searching fingers failed, the hideous budget earphone technology, the personal stereos which were the veri definition of planned obsolescence... All that. But sonically, it was the drums, the horns, the basslines, the tiny details within all of that (and this is just the music part, not to mention any and all acompanying raps). It was all a wonderful era of discovery and just straight up musical satisfaction.

I'm not stuck in the past by any means, and I'm wary of getting too mired in nostalgia (I tend to indulge in it in controlled and prescribed ways - I'm careful to not set up camp there, you know?), but I love and adore this time and have tried to create something which I like to think I would have made if I was in the labs back in 1993 - but definitely with a built-in 'fork in the road' mentality allowing for tangents of all kinds.

People, thank you for listening and any and all ears. I really like this project. I feel like you will too. Come and play, it's fun as all hell.
